Employment with Wild River Adventures
Greetings to Prospective Staff:

We are always looking for outdoor oriented, fun loving, professional staff to join our team.

Step I: For all positions, the first step is to download our application off this page, fill it out, and send it in with a resume, if you have one, to our human resources manager. Then follow up with a phone call to set up an interview. While we prefer all interviews to be conducted in person, we can set up phone interviews for prospective staff who live out of the area. After background checks are conducted, new staff will be hired on a provisional basis.

Step II: Office, driving and kitchen staff will be invited to our initial orientation on May 29th and after which they will be given a schedule. Please note that initially staff will start out on a part time basis as we not go into full time time mode until late June.

Qualified guide candidates will be invited to attend our guide training and orientation which also begins May 29th. If the candidate completes the initial training and passes all the required written and physical tests they will be invited to attend our certification classes and start making runs to accumulate documented commercial river miles.

Step III Staff who need the minimal certifications to be a guide for our company will be offered the following classes:

Wilderness First Aid - June 3-4 Cost $145.00
Whitewater Rescue Tech - June 4-6 Cost $295.00
Adult& Child CPR June 8th 25.00

Step IV: Guides with previous experience will be required to run all stretches of water we run commercially, and pass a skills test. Guides who do not have previous commercial guiding experience will be required to run 300 river miles and pass a skills test before they are eligible to run commercial trips.

Guides are expected to have their own PFD (life jacket) and first aid kit. If you are hired and need any equipment, you will be eligible to purchase items on a pro deal basis.

Our season is a short and intense one. We operate from Memorial Day weekend through mid September, with the bulk of our business occurring between the third week of June and the third week in August.

If you are from out of the area, there is some camping available at a commercial campground immediately adjacent to our property. At our warehouse, we have a community kitchen, shower and bathroom facilities, satellite radio, TV and wireless high speed internet.

Benefits include:
The opportunity to live and work at the west entrance of Glacier National Park. Known as the" Crown Jewel of the Continent" this area is an outdoor recreational paradise with incredible hiking , boating, mountaineering, fishing, and mountain biking all available within minutes of our headquarter.
We also offer:
  • Free guest activities, on a space-available basis such as rafting, kayaking, and fishing.
  • Complimentary and/or discounted trips for family and friends
  • Training opportunities on other rivers
  • Pro-deal program to help you purchase outdoor gear at great rates
  • Free staff clothing

If you are friendly, thrive in the outdoors and are willing to work as a team member in a demanding but enjoyable job, then we are very interested in talking to you. Please fill out the enclosed application and mail to PO Box 1897 Whitefish MT 59937 and we will get back to you. For more information please call our human resources department at 406-387-9453.

We thank you for your interest in our company.
