How much whitewater will there be on the half day trip?
There are nine major rapids which vary in intensity from Class II-III+ (mild to moderate). Depending on water flows there can be a number of other fun whitewater section interspersed with scenic calm stretches.

How long is the half day trip?
This trip covers 9 river miles, and depending on the time of year will last between 2 1/2 and 4 hours.

Will there be a guide on my boat?
Yes, each boat has one of our professional fully certified guides on board.

What do you provide?
Professional Guides trained in Whitewater Safety, First Aid & CPR; Self-Bailing Rafts; Coast Guard Approved Type V Life Jackets; Waterproof Containers; Rain Gear and Round Trip Transportation to and from the river. In addition, on extended trips we provide meals, river shoes, wetsuits, guide style splash jackets, and riverside showers.

What Should We Bring on the River?
Swim wear or shorts, shoes you don't mind getting wet (sandals with heel straps or tennis shoes), hat, sun screen, sunglasses, eyeglass retainer, fleece or wool clothing for cool days. All of these items are available at our retail store.

Can I bring a Camera?
On fishing and scenic trips it is definitely recommended. However, unless you have a waterproof camera we do not recommend it on whitewater trips. We do have inexpensive waterproof cameras available at the retail store.

Do you take pictures of us as we go through the rapids?
Yes Mountain Photography takes action shots while in Bonecrusher Rapids that are available for sale upon return to Wild River Adventures. There are 8 x 10 pictures and proof sheets to order additional photos.

Can I bring my children on the trip? If so, what are the rates?
We specialize in trips for families. We have youth rates that apply to children 12 and under. The minimum age may vary according to current water conditions. As a general guideline, in high water we only take children 12 and older. In moderate flows the cutoff age is 8. In lower flows we will take children as young as 5 to 6. Please call us for more information.

Do you have group rates?
Yes we offer substantial discounts for groups of 10 or more. Please call or E-mail us for more information.

Can I Pay with a Credit Card?
We accept all major credit cards. (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express)

What is your deposit Policy?
Deposits for Full Day trips are $20 per person; On Fishing trips $50 per person; On Multi-day trips - $100 per person.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
Our operating permits limit the number of passengers we can take.

If you cancel:

  • At least 10 days before your trip: 100% refund.
  • 1-9 days before your trip 50% refund.
  • Day of trip: No refund

We reserve the right to cancel trips at anytime. If we cancel a trip, your deposit will be fully refunded or applied to another trip.

Are there additional taxes or fees?
There is no sales tax, but a 3% Forest Service Fee will be added on to the trip price. These fees are used to help maintain the Flathead as a Wild and Scenic river.

Who are some of your affiliates?
River Trips under permit to Flathead National Forest; Licensed Outfitter- Montana Board of Outfitters; All Flathead Valley Chambers of Commerce; and American Outdoors.

What about valuables?
We cannot be held responsible for accidental damage to, or loss of any valuables that you bring on the river. This includes cameras and jewelry.
